YWCA CARE House

it shouldn't hurt to be a kid

The YWCA CARE House is Wisconsin's first, and Rock County's only, child advocacy center.
Child abuse is a community problem. No single agency has the training, manpower, resources, or legal mandate to intervene effectively in child abuse cases. By working together, however, we can be the difference in an abused child's life.

Since 1993, YWCA CARE House has provided professional and compassionate care to thousands of child victims of physical and sexual abuse or neglect. CARE House is a child-friendly interview center where CARE House staff, law enforcement, child protective services, prosecution and others, work together to ensure children are not further traumatized by the systems designed to protect them. They tell their painful story once, which is digitally recorded, eliminating duplicate interviews, and/or the additional trauma of facing an abuser in court.
