Janesville, Wisconsin – YWCA Rock County is now accepting nominations for the 2020 Racial Justice Award. The award will be presented during the annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration in January.
The Racial Justice Award recognizes an individual that actively strives for eliminating racism and promoting racial equality. Individuals nominated should demonstrate leadership and service to others.
The 2019 recipient of the Racial Justice Award was Janesville Police Chief David Moore.
Nomination forms can be found online at www.ywcarockcounty.org, or by visiting the YWCA Rock County office at 1735 S. Washington St., Janesville. Nomination forms must be returned by December 18, 2019.
The MLK Commemoration event will be held at Blackhawk Technical College from 3-5 p.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2020. The event is presented by the Diversity Action Team of Rock County, YWCA Rock County, Blackhawk Technical College, the School District of Beloit, the School District of Janesville, School District of Milton, the United Auto Workers Local 95 and The American Association of University Women.
