YWCA Rock County Postponing Family Fun Night Out of an Abundance of Caution

Categories: News Releases

Janesville, Wisconsin – YWCA Rock County is postponing Family Fun Night that had been scheduled for Friday, March 13 due to growing concerns over the coronavirus.

“Because the situation with the coronavirus is rapidly evolving, we are making this decision out of an abundance of caution,” said Angela Moore, YWCA Rock County Executive Director.  “We take the health of the families and communities we serve seriously.”

Family Fun Night draws nearly 400 people, each year. This year it was set to be held at Franklin Middle School in Janesville.

“This is a tough decision to make but we know it’s the right decision to make,” said Moore. “We are following the recommendations of health officials by limiting mass gatherings to help prevent the spread of the virus.”

Due to the situation quickly evolving, we do not yet have a new date for Family Fun Night. YWCA Rock County will continue to refer to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and state health officials for guidance.
