Nutrition Resources for Children During COVID-19 Shutdowns

School District of Beloit

 

The School District of Beloit will provide a full sack lunch and breakfast for all children (ages 1 to 18) through Friday, April 3. Children must be present to receive a meal.

Meals will be distributed in a grab and go manner, by School District employees from 11:00 am – 1:00 pm at:

Beloit Memorial – Field House outside pickup (follow signage)
Converse – Drop Off Zone
Gaston – Drop Off Zone
Hackett – Drop Off Zone
Merrill – Drop Off Zone
Robinson – Drop Off Zone
Todd – Back Drop Off zone

Intermediate school students may pick-up meals at the closest elementary school. Meals for students with food allergies and food modifications will be available.

Todd staff will be taking meals to the office area at the Springbrook Mobile Home Park at 2601 Colley Rd. They will arrive at 1:15. Any child (ages 1-18) is welcome to take a meal. Meals must be picked up in person and is expected to continue through April 6.

Beloit Caritas

The health and safety of everyone who comes Caritas is our primary concern. We are taking precautions necessary to keep our neighbors, volunteers and staff safe. This is a fluid situation, and we will continue to adapt and make changes to our standard operating procedures as needed.

Effective Wednesday, March 18 the LOBBY will be closed. Food packages will be distributed at the overhead door on the south side of the building. Please drive up, have your ID ready, and above all please be patient.

Monday – Wednesday, 10:00 a.m. – 2:15 p.m.

Thursday, 10:00 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.

Saturday, 10:00 a.m. – 11:45 a.m.

Sunday, Closed

Since Caritas partners with the Emergency Food Assistance Program, community members need to be registered in order to receive food. The following information will be required: a recent piece of mail (within the last 30 days) and a photo id or birth certificate for everyone in the household.

 

School District of Janesville

“Grab & Go” Meal Distribution continues weekdays Monday through Friday (including Spring Break), the distirct will provide free “grab and go” lunch and breakfast to any child, 18 years of age and younger.

This service is expected to continue throughout the duration of the public health emergency school closure.

The “grab & go” meals will be available for pick-up between the hours of 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM at the following locations:

• Craig High School *
• Parker High School *
• Marshall Middle School
• Edison Middle School
• Madison Elementary
• Wilson Elementary
• Van Buren Elementary
• Jefferson Elementary

Meal pick up will be located at the front entrance of the 8 locations, with two exceptions*: Craig HS, where they will set up at the back of the school at the lower cafeteria level; and Parker HS, where they will set up by the west-side entrance (main student entrance). For the “grab and go” meal distribution, SDJ is using a drive through model, with walk ups welcomed.

Children will be able to stop and get out of vehicle to pick up meals. Per federal law, families are only allowed 1 meal per child in the car or per child present. The “grab and go” meals will include a breakfast for the child to use the following morning.

ECHO (Janesville)

ECHO Food pantry will be open normal hours from 9-11 a.m. ECHO will be doing call in orders with drive up. Please call 608-754-5333 to set-up food orders. Senior Stockboxes will also be distributed as a drive up service. Please call 608-754-5333 to set-up Senior Stockboxes.
