Governor Tony Evers issued a “safer at home” order on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. The order, which shuts down many non-essential businesses in the state, includes specific language when it comes to domestic violence victims and domestic violence shelters.
The order states, “Individuals whose homes or residences are unsafe or become unsafe, such as victims of domestic violence, are permitted and urged to leave their home and stay at a safe alternative location.”
Those locations can include:
- Shelters
- Hotels
- Motels
- Etc.
