YWCA Rock County Announces Ambassadors for 2021 Walk a Mile in Her Shoes

Janesville, Wisconsin – YWCA Rock County is excited to announce the Ambassadors for the 2021 Walk a Mile in Her Shoes Event which helps raise funds to support the domestic violence programs at YWCA Rock County. Mollie Myers, Steven Berg (Rock County Sheriff's Office), Dan Cunningham (Forward Janesville), Forrest Dassow (First National Bank and Trust), Andrea Ehret (Rock County Victim/Witness Assistance Program), Nick Purkapile (First National Bank and Trust), DeAnna Brown (Mercyhealth), Jennifer Paepke (School District of Beloit-Cunningham), Kennedy McNeil (Janesville Jets), Kim Clist Fons (Blue Wysteria Coaching and Consulting), John Ludwig (R.E. Michel Company) and Anthony Carlon (R.E. Michel Company) are all supporting the event this year by being ambassadors and helping raise funds.These ambassadors are advocates for the Walk a Mile in Her Shoes event. Each has their own individual fundraising goal which goes towards the overall fundraising goal for YWCA Rock County. Each ambassador raises these funds by getting creative with how to get the community, friends, family members and co-workers to support their fundraising teams. The ambassadors have already raised almost $4,000 of the $30,000 goal for 2021.Walk a Mile in Her Shoes is a unique walk that invites participants to walk a mile in women’s shoes to raise awareness and funds for domestic violence victims. The money raised benefits the domestic violence programs at the YWCA Rock County. Join YWCA Rock County on Thursday, September 30th at 5:30pm at the Pontiac Convention Center in Janesville. Anyone interested in participating in the walk that does not currently have a pair of high heel shoes can take advantage of the shoe fitting starting at 4:30pm for those looking to borrow a pair for the walk. The walk begins at 5:30pm and a presentation and light dinner will be provided at the conclusion of the walk.YWCA Rock County is asking for the help from the community to support these ambassadors or create a fundraising page yourself.
