YWCA ROCK COUNTY WELCOMES NEW BOARD MEMBERS

The YWCA Rock County is pleased to announce the addition of Jenny Neuville: Owner of JN Marketing, Dr. Karen Schmitt: Vice President of Academic Affairs at Blackhawk Technical College, Kim Clist Fons: President and Founder of Blue Wysteria Coaching and Consulting, Shonna Meyers: Vice President- Market Manager for Associated Bank of Rock County, and Shar Hermanson: General Sales Manager for Mid-West Family Madison.Meet our new Board Members:Jenny Neuville has owned a marketing agency, serving Rock County local businesses and nonprofits, since 2013. She spearheads a team of women and is passionate about helping them advance professionally. In business and personal life, Jenny works towards advocating for the underserved in our community. She is always looking for tangible ways to improve the conditions that perpetuate racism and the disempowerment of women.Jenny believes the way to affect lasting change is one policy, one program, and one person at a time. Her volunteer work in the community over the past decade has been extensive. She currently serves as Vice President of the Basics Coop Board of Directors. Serving on the YWCA board is an opportunity Jenny looks forward to, as she's passionate about using her professional skills and privileges to advance and lift others who are less fortunate.Dr. Karen Schmitt currently serves as the Vice President of Academic Affairs at Blackhawk Technical College. She grew up on a dairy farm in Wisconsin and is a fourth-generation teacher within her family. She has a PhD in geology and over 20 years of leadership experience in community colleges and universities in Wisconsin, Alaska and Washington State. She is very excited by the opportunity to join the YWCA Board of Directors because its mission and vision are strongly aligned with her own personal values and professional goals.Kim Clist Fons is a consummate collaborator and connector who believes deeply in community. Professionally, this comes to life when she works with individuals, teams, and organizations to become more adaptive, innovative, productive, and effective. She does this through leadership development, training, facilitation, one-on-one coaching, and team coaching. Raising her kids as a single mother, she learned the power of community and supporting each other when things are hard. This commitment to community and supporting women in community is what draws her to the YWCA. As an empty-nester mom, she feels like she now has the time and experience to be of service to this incredible organization and its Mission. She is honored to be a part of the work the YWCA is doing.Shonna Meyers is the Market Manager for Associated Bank and has been with the organization for almost 16 years. She takes pride in helping develop colleagues and aiding in keeping Rock County businesses successful. She has had the opportunity to serve in several volunteer capacities from internal colleague resource groups to external opportunities such as a committee chair, loaned executive and so much more. She enjoys volunteering time to the community and looks forward to serving on the Board of Directors. She is mostly excited to help execute the mission of the YWCA to continue the great work the organization has done in the community.Shar Hermanson is the General Sales Manager for Mid-West Family Madison. With over 20 years of media and mothering experience, she has learned the importance of family and a strong income to support that family. During her day, she helps sales professionals solve their client's problems. She uses a team approach to find out what her clients need, and they build custom solutions that produce measurable marketing results.She has worked with Girls Night Out Rock County for 7 years which has a mission of having fun, connecting, and giving back. The fundraisers produce revenue for non-profits in greater Rock County for charities that benefit women and children. This is where she learned about the great work of the YWCA. She is excited to be allowed to serve on the Board of Directors for the YWCA and support the mission of eliminating racism and empowering women in the community.Other YWCA Board Members include: Current President Kim Lantta, Secretary Kelly Eickstead, Kayla Murphy, Stephanie Bravieri, Tami Kellerman, Karen Reilly, Clair Berg, Julie Janiak, and Shauna McCarthy.
