CARRIE KULINSKI

Carrie’s motto is “Live on Purpose.” She began serving others as an addiction counselor for Mercy Health in the early 1990’s, where she implemented the family programs on the inpatient addiction unit. In 1999 she joined the School District of Janesville as the AODA (Alcohol and Other Drugs of Abuse) Coordinator. In her 13 years as the AODA Coordinator she became nationally recognized as a leader in prevention by implementing model programs, opening a recovery school for students in recovery from addiction and wrote a marijuana curriculum used by many school districts throughout the nation and the US Army. She formed a school and community committee to focus on the prevention of youth substance use, which is now known as Janesville Mobilizing for Change. She served on the State Superintendents AODA Advisory Counsil and the City of Janesville Alcohol License Advisory Council for 6 years. For the last 10 years she has held the position of the Families in Transition Coordinator serving homeless youth and their families. She has served on the board for Project 16:49 for the last ten years and continues to serve on the board of Janesville Mobilizing for Change. Throughout her career she has served on five nonprofit boards and twenty-two committees. She is also an accomplished grant writer who has brought millions of dollars into the Janesville community.
