In Honor of Vickie Lynn McGee

"On behalf of her family, we honor and celebrate the life of Vickie Lynn McGee, a woman whose strength, vision, and compassion left a lasting impact on all who knew her.

Born in Rockford, Illinois and raised in Beloit, Wisconsin, Vickie was a woman of deep faith, resilience, and unwavering dedication to her family and her community. She was known for her radiant smile, magnetic presence, and ability to make anyone feel seen and valued. She found joy in capturing smiles, often gathering others for photos that became lasting memories.

Diagnosed with kidney failure as a young adult, she endured dialysis treatments three days a week for many years. Despite these challenges, she refused to allow her illness to define her life.

Vickie was a gifted poet who shared her voice at local poetry events before stepping into the world of stand-up comedy. She performed all across the Midwest, using humor to connect with others and transform her personal experiences into moments of joy and reflection.

Following the passing of her mother in 2018, Vickie turned her grief into purpose by launching her skincare line, 'Noni Lynn's Naturals' featuring handmade soaps, body butter, lip balms, and more. Her entrepreneurial journey soon expanded into a broader mission. In 2019, she founded the Black Women In Business Expo, creating a platform dedicated to uplifting and promoting Black women entrepreneurs within her community.

Despite ongoing health struggles, Vickie continued organizing and hosting the annual expo, demonstrating remarkable perseverance and leadership. The event grew each year, becoming a celebration of unity, empowerment, and economic support.

Just days before the fifth annual expo, Vickie passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones. Today, her vision lives on through the continued success of the Black Women In Business Expo and the countless lives she inspired."
