Jamie Counsell - 2026 Emcee
Jamie graduated from Bryant and Stratton College with her ADN in 2009 and then went on to Western Governors University and graduated with her BSN in 2018. Her background is in women's health where she focused her career on Labor & Delivery, Neonatal Intensive Care, Pediatrics and Gynecological procedures. In 2012 she received training to become a Forensic/Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner and shortly after transitioned from women's health to the emergency department. She received her SANE training from Wisconsin Department of Justice in 2012 and has since taken on the role of a faculty member for WI DOJ to assist in training future forensic nurses in the state of Wisconsin.
Jamie has been the full-time coordinator at Mercy Trauma Center (located in Janesville, WI) since 2015, acquired the Javon Bea program in Rockford, IL in 2023, and currently belongs to over 25 committees, locally as well as state wide, as the medical piece for Forensic Nurses. Her specialty and main focus of nursing is on Forensics which includes prevention, awareness and education on child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, drug endangered children, and human trafficking. Jamie is a current member of the Executive Committee for the Rock County Anti-Human Trafficking Task Force and graduated from Law School in May, 2024 with her Masters in Legal Studies for Healthcare Law. She is a local and national presenter on trauma informed care and recent TEDx Speaker.
Outside of work she enjoys family time, crafting and self-care activities. Jamie loves to laugh and bring humor to everyone around her. She is a married mother of two adult boys and loves her two dogs.
