Natalia Mauer (2026 Young Woman)
Natalia Mauer is an aspiring physician and incoming undergraduate student at the University of Wisconsin–Madison. She has accepted admission to the College of Agricultural and Life Sciences (CALS), where she plans to major in biology on a pre‑med track to prepare for medical school and a future career in healthcare.
She recently graduated from Rock University High School while simultaneously earning her Associate of Science degree from Blackhawk Technical College. Because her college credits will transfer to UW–Madison, she expects to complete her bachelor’s degree in approximately two years, allowing her to accelerate her path toward medical school. Balancing both high school and college coursework has required strong time management, discipline, and perseverance—qualities that will continue to guide her throughout her academic and professional journey.
Natalia is a Certified Nursing Assistant and has gained hands-on patient care experience through hospital volunteering and participation in an OB/GYN internship program. Together, these three experiences have provided her with over 600 clinical hours and have reaffirmed her passion for medicine. Each opportunity has offered valuable insight into healthcare and strengthened her commitment to the field. She is especially passionate about supporting patients and families during significant moments in their lives.
At UW–Madison, Natalia plans to continue building clinical, research, and volunteer experience while preparing to apply to medical school. Her goal is to become a physician who provides compassionate, patient‑centered care and makes a meaningful impact within the communities she serves. Although she holds a particular interest in women’s health, she remains open to exploring new areas of medicine. She is deeply grateful for the mentors, educators, and opportunities that have helped her reach this point, and she looks forward to continuing to strive for excellence in all that she does.
