Planting Seeds of Prevention

Planting Seeds of Prevention
Celebrating April Child Abuse Prevention Month

YWCA Rock County, in partnership with the Janesville Police Department, Child Protective Services, and the Rock County Anti‑Human Trafficking Task Force, invites the community to Planting Seeds of Prevention, a free, family‑friendly event focused on awareness, prevention, and community connection.

Join us on Thursday, April 30, from 3:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the YWCA Rock County CARE House and adjacent field (1735 S. Washington St., Janesville) for an afternoon of fun activities for all ages while learning more about the important work of the YWCA Rock County CARE House.

This free event is open to the public and will feature:

  • A free cookout supported by Kwik Trip donations

  • A handprint “garden” craft kids can take home

  • A bounce house

  • Face painting and more

  • A Police Chief water balloon toss

Families can also enjoy treats provided by generous community partners, including ice cream from Culver’s and cotton candy from Santa Maria Supermarket.

Planting Seeds of Prevention offers a welcoming space for families to come together, celebrate community partnerships, and learn how prevention, education, and support help keep children safe and thriving in Rock County.
