Rock County has a rich history when it comes to race. Beloit has the oldest NAACP chapter in Wisconsin. Many of our churches were founded by abolitionists. Many black families arrived in the Great Migration.

And yet, Janesville became a Sundown Town with racial covenants and there was a Ku Klux Klan rally as recently as the 1990s. We will take a closer look at our local past and ask how we can make a difference in our present.
